Elk Island Park

I was sick last several days... So, in order to fight against the viruses we decided to go out, breath fresh air. On Sunday we have visited Elk Island Park which is 50 km to East from us.It took 45 minutes to travel there. Based on the information provided by Park Canada's website Elk Island National Park is home to bison, wood bison, moose, deer, and elk. Also boasting over 250 species of birds. This park is good for wildlife viewing, hiking, picnicking.
Please note that entrance to the Park is not free and costs close to $35. However, you may save if you purchase Parks Canada Discovery Pass on-line. It cost $136 and allows you to enter more than 100 national parks across Canada during 12 month period. We decided to buy it as we are going to visit most of the the closest national parks in Alberta and British Columbia. The pass looks like this:

And as usually here is some pictures from our trip:

Pope also visited the Park in 1984

I fall in love with the sky here in Canada. It is so beautiful... I could not avoid capturing the sky.

I would advice to visit the park without kids as they are not able to hike long distances. But it is wonderful place to picnick at nature and breath fresh air.
